1. So, what exactly is The GIVEN?

We are a social academic Q&A platform to improve the student-learning experience and increase academic performance for K-16+ education by delivering cost effective, flexible, and highly accessible education services. Using smart and interactive educational online platform, we create a marketplace for academic questions and answers, free or paid for all types of students and a huge variety of subjects, including Math, Science, Social Studies, English, AP ®, Finance, Business and Grad school standardized tests.

2. What kind of person uses The GIVEN?

The GIVEN is an amazing tool for any student, any grade or age, who has an academic question. 

3. What's the difference between The GIVEN and other online learning programs?

Aside from being just awesome, The GIVEN is completely difference from your basic learning site. We wanted to create a platform for the modern student. You are not charged by lesson or class. Instead, you ask a question and get your answer. You have access to a tutor 24/7 and receive quality help with an explanation and a solution. 

 

1. How am I charged? What is the hourly/weekly fee for a tutor?

There is no fixed fee for getting academic help here. Unlike other online learning programs, questions can be answered for free or at price, all depending on the question’s difficulty. Usually, a decent amount of compensation for tutors will be needed to answer more difficult or technical questions. 

2. How can I rate a tutor?

Students can simply rate a tutor by giving them a rating from one to five. The tutor rating system is based on quality, friendliness, and quickness. If your tutor did a great job, let them know!

3. What does GPA stand for?

GPA stands for GIVEN Performance Average, a percentage point representing a student's payment credibility. The GIVEN will divide the a student's number of completed Preferred Questions by his/her number of total preferred questions, which will be this student's GPA. 

1. How do I become a verified tutor?

Being a verified tutor means that you are more reliable and can lead to being picked by students more often. To become a verified tutor, you need to provide your educational ID (School ID or Alumni ID), or proof of education (a copy of diploma or transcript), and Governmental ID (driving license, passport). 

 

 

2. Can I register as a student too?

Yes, of course you can. However, for security purposes we do require you to use two distinct emails and passwords.

3. What's up with the belts?

There are three tutor belts that you can earn: 

1. White Belt: This is the first basic level. Learn well and work hard young grasshopper.

2. Blue Belt: You have learned to wax on and off. Once a tutor completes more than 10 questions, the tutor will receive the blue belt.

3. Black Belt: This is our master level. You have the skills of a ninja and the knowledge of a great sage. The tutor must complete multiple questions and have consistently high ratings. 

4. Why do I need to upload my IDs?

We use your ID to check that your education and personal information is true. 

At The GIVEN, protecting your information is fundamental. To ensure your information is 100% safely guarded, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. When giving your personal info to be verified tutor, SSL encrypts all personal information including license number, name and address. With this encryption, only The GIVEN is allowed to decode your information. WE NEVER USE YOUR ID FOR ANY OTHER REASON.

1. What can I use as payment?

Students can pay either through PayPal or use any other major credit cards. Simply post a question, pick a tutor, and then make a payment. 

2. What is the transaction fee?

The rate is 15% for all transactions.

3. How does the payment transaction take place?

For students: After posting a question, students pick and a pay for a specific tutor’s answer.

For tutors: 50% of this payment will be transferred to the tutor as a downpayment. The second half of the payment will be transferred once the student is fully satisfied with the answer. This way, our tutors are protected from situations where they do not receive payment after solving a question. 

4. What is the refund policy?

If a student is not fully satisfied with the answer, they can file a dispuate claim. Once filed, The GIVEN will mediate the problem and find a solution. If the student's dispute is approved, they will receive a refund into their balance. 

5. What if I am not fully satisfied with my answers?
